CWDC “Be the Difference” campaign – Review

The Children’s workforce development council (CWDC) has recently launched a new advertising campaign called “Be the Difference” which has attracted my interest. So much so that I actually go out of my way to read them, and find myself looking at every bus shelter advert, just to see if there is a new one.

These adverts have only been around London and on the London Transport System for a couple of weeks, so I thought I would write a post about them.

First… a little about what the CWDC do (taken direct from the CWDC website):

“To make England the best place in the world to grow up, we lead workforce reform, improving chances for children and young people throughout the country.
In short, we join up the way different agencies work, and bring consistency to the way children and young people are listened to and looked after. We are the voice of employers and we make sure their concerns, experiences and views directly influence workforce reform.
Our decisions and actions are informed by constant dialogue with employers, the workforce, children, young people and their families, as well as high quality research.”

Some of you may already be aware of how these adverts look, but for those of you who are not, here are a few examples…

These adverts are simply amazing. They are full of impact, they are interesting, they make you read on through use of a story, they give you all the information you need to know but most of all they are SIMPLE.

The plain white background and black text allow the image in the top right to grab your attention. Once that has your attention, due to the shortness of each line you feel you’re not reading much at all, and before you know it you have found yourself in a little world imagining what the text says is happening (at least that’s what happened for me).

I would like to see these adverts around for a little longer, and even for there to be a few more varieties. From asking people i know there are ones out there I haven’t seen, and I would like to find them. That is how great i think these adverts are… Well done to CWDC for bringing out such an amazing campaign.
